The charades and challenges of catching a charger.

Sorry for the half-assed alliteration in the title, it was the best I could do on such short notice.

I will now update you on my phone situation: As you all know, my phone is dead. Now, I thought it was the battery at first, because I'd plug it in and it'd charge for about five seconds before going "Nope, not gonna happen" and then stopping the charge. Well, my phone has been through a lot, so I figured the wear and tear and water damage (Plus the fact that my phone's battery life had gotten to be about 20 hours) made me think that my battery was just old. I ordered a new one and awaited anxiously.

Well, it arrived this morning. I quickly inserted it (*snicker*) and was overcome with joy! My phone, alive! Confetti flew, fireworks exploded, tears of joy cascaded down my face... until I decided to plug my phone in to make sure it could hold a charge.

...And it couldn't. It was still doing the same thing. So that meant one of two things: either my charge was a piece of crap or my phone was a piece of crap. I suspected the latter, but in a last-ditch effort to convince myself otherwise, I texted Meaghan (Who also has a Blackberry, and has helped me before) asking her if she was at home and if she could help me. I went over there and my fears were confirmed. I tried out multiple charges, all to the same result. My phone just didn't want me to charge it.

Discontent to let my suicidal phone continue its tendencies, I asked Meaghan how she charged her phone- her charger port was also messed up. She showed me her device, and I saw a small glimmer of hope. You see, it didn't need the charger port to work- it charges the batteries themselves, not the phone. I was in awe. After thanking her profusely, I went home and found a model that would work with my phone for a mere $15.95 plus shipping. The company I ordered from only had standard shipping (Another $2.90), so it'll take a while to get here, but I don't mind. According to Amazon, all the other companies were charging upwards of $30 for the same thing, so I saved probably close to $25 by NOT going with a more expensive company to get more expensive shipping. I'm sure I can wait a few days, anyway, it's only shipping from New York.

But yes. That's my tale. I figured it was dramatic enough to post it here.
